Remembering our departed loved ones in prayer
In the Coptic Orthodox tradition, memorial prayers are offered for the departed at specific intervals following their passing — commonly on the 40th day and the 1-year anniversary, as well as on the annual anniversary of passing in following years. These services are an opportunity for family and friends to gather in prayer and remembrance.
